Bonding is an alternative to veneers that can be used to restore
teeth that are discoloured, chipped, cracked or misaligned. Bonding
can significantly improve the appearance of a tooth and can usually
be done in a single visit.
Veneers are thin, tooth coloured porcelain shells that are carefully
crafted to bond to and cover the front of unsightly teeth. Veneers
are excellent to restore chipped, discoloured, stained or slightly
misaligned or misshapen teeth. They can be used to improve the
shape, length, size and colour of teeth. As veneers are attached
directly to your existing tooth structure with a minimal amount
of the original tooth removed, they are a much more conservative
restoration than the use of crowns and provide a stronger, longer
lasting alternative to bonding. Veneers can generally be completed
in 2 visits.

Internal bleaching can be performed on previously root filled
teeth that have discoloured, usually in the front teeth that are
thinner. Depending on the extent of discolouration, internal bleaching
can take as little as 2 visits to achieve a great result.
External bleaching for the full mouth can be done by the patient
in the convenience of their own home, once special trays have
been constructed by the dentist and the bleaching agents fully
explained. Two visits are usually required, firstly for the impressions
to make the trays and then a second to ‘fit’ the trays
and issue and explain the at-home procedure.
